Dear Colleague:

You should have received an invitation from the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) to attend a briefing on the Trump administration’s latest executive order banning
Muslims and refugees from entering the United States. This briefing will be held Monday, March 13th from 1:30-2:30 PM in Rayburn 2168.

The panel will feature experts on immigration to examine legal issues behind the ban, its implications for U.S. national security, and the likely impact on travelers and American
families.

While the ban was tweaked in an attempt to address some of its glaring problems, the fact remains that individuals will once again be barred on the basis of their religion,
undermining both the Constitution and our values as a nation. Given the strong outcry to the initial ban and its predecessor, it is important Members of Congress and their staff understand the new order and its legal and national security implications.

Please see the full briefing details and RSVP information below. We hope you or your staff can attend.

Sincerely,

Debbie Dingell
Member of Congress
