Dear Colleague:
As co-chairs of the US-China Working Group, we invite you to a Member briefing on
The First 100 Days: U.S.-China Relations in the Trump Administration.
Newly inaugurated President Trump has signaled potential shifts in policy for the U.S. relationship with China. An understanding of China’s economic, security, and developmental goals is crucial in crafting informed U.S. policy that engages China in the
context of the broader geopolitical considerations. China will also adjust its policies to predict and react to the new administration.
This briefing will provide Members with an overview of major issues in the U.S.-China relationship and outline the factors and contours that will shape U.S.-China relations in the first 100 days of the Trump Administration.
The briefing will take place on Wednesday, February 1, from 2-3pm in 1540-A Longworth House Office Building.
Panelists:
- John Frisbie – President, U.S.-China Business Council
- Roy Kamphausen – Senior Vice President for Research, National Bureau of Asian Research
- Susan Lawrence – Specialist in Asian Affairs, Congressional Research Service
