Recognize Black History Month by Honoring African-American Veterans
This February as we celebrate Black History Month and the central role African-Americans have played in our nation’s history, please co-sponsor legislation recognizing the challenges faced by African-American veterans upon returning
home after serving in the Armed Forces; their heroic military sacrifices; and their patriotism in fighting for civil rights, both at home and abroad.
This resolution seeks to honor the bravery and resilience of African-American veterans and recognize the pivotal role they played in the evolution of the Civil Rights Movement. Despite the extraordinary patriotism shown by these
brave men and women during their service in the Armed Forces, many African-American veterans encountered tremendous challenges in the fight for civil liberties. This resolution recognizes these veterans, servicemembers, and patriots and aims to memorialize
their admirable spirit and determination.
This Black History Month, please join me in honoring African-American veterans and servicemembers and their contributions to our Nation by becoming an original co-sponsor of this resolution. To become an original co-sponsor or
