Electronic Warfare Working Group (EWWG)

Invites you for a panel discussion on

Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) Policy

Dear Colleague:

On behalf of the EW Working Group, we write to invite you to a panel discussion on EMS policy on
Tuesday, June 21, at 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM in 2212 Rayburn House Building (RHOB).

The panel discussion will provide perspectives from the Department of Defense (DoD), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA), the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and representatives from the Aerospace & Defense Industry.

All wireless technologies require spectrum. In order to know one’s location, to sense and avoid other aircraft, and to communicate in today’s world, radio frequency spectrum is critical. Devices using unlicensed and cellular spectrum are both
posing challenges and creating opportunities for the government. Congress is considering many legislative proposals regarding this crucial resource. Please join us for an informal conversation on spectrum policy, and why it’s an important issue for Congress.

Speakers include:

Fred Moorefield, Director, Spectrum Policy and International Engagements, DOD CIO

Paige Atkins, Associate Administrator, NTIA

Brig. Gen. Edward A. Sauley Ill, Deputy Director, Operations for Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations, USSTRATCOM (invited)

Victor Sparrow, Director, Spectrum Policy and Planning, NASA

Ian Atkins, Director, Spectrum Engineering and Policy, FAA

Jennifer Warren,Vice President, Tech Policy & Regulation, Lockheed Martin Corporation

We hope you can join us for this important discussion.  This event is open to the public and is a widely-attended event.  Please RSVP to Brandt Anderson in Rep. Walorski’s office at Brandt.Anderson@mail.house.gov or
J.Z. Golden in Rep. Larsen’s office at Jonathan.Golden@mail.house.gov and please do not hesitate to contact our staff if you have any questions
or need additional information.

Sincerely,

Rep. Jackie Walorski              Rep. Rick Larsen
