U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) this week urged the U.S. Treasury Department to reject proposed cuts to the Central States Pension Plan that could devastate Ohio families. Members and retirees of the plan started to receive notice in October 2015 that their earned benefits could be cut by as much as 70 percent. In a letter to Special Master for Implementation, Kenneth Feinberg – who is tasked with overseeing applications of proposed benefits – Brown urged him to reject the cuts.
