Dear Colleague:

Please join me in taking an important step to preserve Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy by cosponsoring H.R. 2880, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park Act of 2015.

This bill is cost neutral and simply re-designates the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site which located in my congressional district in Atlanta, Georgia to be referred to as the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park.  The bill also updates the sites boundary map.

H.R. 2880 will provide the National Park Service with a greater ability to mark, interpret, and provide technical assistance to an important national site that relays the story of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the American Civil Rights Movement.  This small technical change will have a significant impact on the way in which the National Park Service preserves and shares this history with national and international visitors.

I hope you will support this effort to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  To cosponsor or for more information, please contact Britni Rillera at x5-3801 or Britni.Rillera@mail.house.gov in my office.  Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

                                                /s

John Lewis

Member of Congress
