Briefing on UAS Integration and Airspace Management
Featuring Representatives from the FAA, NASA, Amazon, Google and Verizon
As many of you know, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are the next major frontier for aviation. Every day there are reports of how UAS are being used for innovative commercial and civil applications. According to an Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) report; “The Economic Impact of Unmanned Aircraft Integration in the United States,” within the first ten years of integration into the National Airspace System, more than 100,000 jobs will be created across the nation with an economic impact of more than $82 billion.
UAS are already having an immediate impact on many segments of our society, given the more than 2,000 exemptions for commercial operations. However, their safe and effective integration into the National Airspace System is a critical requirement for unlocking all the applications that are not only being imagined, but also proven.
Therefore, we would like to invite you to a briefing on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 10:00am-12:00pm in the Capitol Visitor Center’s Congressional Auditorium that will explore some of the policies and technologies being evaluated in this exciting area of UAS airspace management with key industry and government leaders. Our discussion will be moderated by AUVSI and panelists will include representatives from Amazon Prime Air, Google’s Project Wing, Verizon, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
We look forward to seeing you there.
