Congressional Veterans Jobs Caucus Briefing
“Transition to the Workforce: How Community Partners are Helping Employ Veterans”
Thursday, November 5, 2015,
10 a.m. in Cannon 340
As the co-chairs of the Congressional Veterans Jobs Caucus, we would like to invite you to a briefing on the role of community partners in reducing veterans’ unemployment on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Cannon 340.
In the past few years, we have seen a reduction in the unemployment rate among our nation’s veterans. However, there are still significant challenges facing our transitioning servicemen and women when it comes to securing and maintaining employment. Non-profits and businesses play an integral part in helping address these challenges.
The Veterans Jobs Caucus briefing will feature a panel of non-federal entities assisting veterans’ transition from military service to the civilian work force. These community partners will share their specific efforts and best practices to reduce veterans’ unemployment. This will be followed by a Q & A session on how Congress can complement and support, not duplicate, the work these organizations are doing.
