Dear Colleague:
I write to direct your attention to results of a new survey released today, commissioned by the Atlantic Council, reflecting a shift in American attitudes toward Cuba. According to the nonpartisan survey, a majority of Americans now favor normalizing relations or engaging more directly with the Cuban government.
As we move forward in rethinking the failed Cold War era policies on Cuba, we must move quickly and decisively to bring real change to the failed unilateral embargo which continues to isolate the United States from our allies internationally.
It is long past time to try a new approach. The American people support taking new steps towards an improved and more cooperative relationship between our nation and Cuba.
Sincerely,
BARBARA LEE
Member of Congress
