Dear Colleague:
As Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Members of Congress, we encourage you to support Peace Corps Volunteers in your district by joining the bipartisan Peace Corps Caucus.
Over the past 50 years, through war and conflict, more than 210,000 Americans have served their country in the name of peace, embodying the timeless American ideals of goodwill, prosperity, and progress. Today, 8,073 Volunteers from all 50 states are working
shoulder-to-shoulder with local communities in 76 countries.
Peace Corps is also enhancing its ability to meet 21st century development challenges by drawing from the full spectrum of American strength. By partnering with minority-serving institutions, AARP, and over 80 universities hosting Peace Corps Masters International
programs, Peace Corps has expanded the diversity and capacity of Americans serving in host countries.
Amidst war and conflict, Peace Corps has shown the world a hopeful, uplifting side of America through the best of what this country has to offer: our citizens and our ideals. We encourage you to honor current and past Peace Corps Volunteers in your district
by joining the bipartisan Peace Corps Caucus. You don’t need to have served in the Peace Corps to join the caucus.
To find out how many Peace Corps Volunteers are currently serving in your district and to join the Peace Corps Caucus, please contact Caitie Whelan (Caitie.whelan@mail.house.gov) in Congressman Farr’s office.
Sincerely,
